COULD THE 'POWER OF KNOWLEDGE' HELP BATTLE POST-COVID LONELINESS?

A N T I  -  L O N E L Y  C I T Y

2020 | CITY OF MELBOURNE

This design proposition was derived from a fascinating ‘mutual osmosis’, found between Howey Place and Collins234, that dates to their history. Which is an interesting story of how Cole created a ‘Book Empire’ within the arcade, that once was, the place to go for anyone visiting Melbourne. He strongly believed that entertaining people encouraged them to visit the arcade to read their hearts out. This space lost all its essence nurtured by Cole with time, and today pose as a lonely space that lacks optimism and openness.
